In 2020, the U.S. Postal Service issues the first of 12 stamps in the third Lunar New Year series. The Year of the Rat begins January 25, 2020, and ends on February 11, 2021.
Utilizing blue as the predominant color — said to be one of the lucky colors for individuals born during the Year of the Rat—the rat mask in the stamp design incorporates elements with symbolic meaning. Several of the patterns were created with the style of Asian textiles in mind and the circle in the center of the rat’s head represents the new moon on which the Lunar New Year begins. A pop of the very lucky color red ties the design in with other common celebratory decorations.

Just finished my big spring fundraising mailing and these Year of the Rat stamps were perfect. I needed a bunch of forever stamps that wouldn’t break the bank, and this deal was great. They worked flawlessly for all our donation thank-you letters. The design is cute, and knowing they’ll always be good for first-class postage is a huge relief for planning future campaigns. Very happy with this purchase.

As a small business, I’m always mailing invoices and thank-you notes. I grabbed these Year of the Rat stamps online because the price was right. They’re legit Forever stamps, so no worrying about rate hikes. They arrived quickly and my mail goes out without a hitch. The design is fun and my clients have even commented on them! The only reason I’m not over the moon is the packaging was just a basic envelope—fine for me, but maybe not for a gift.

As a wedding planner, I go through a ton of stamps. These Forever stamps were perfect for my latest batch of save-the-dates. The postage is always current, which is a huge relief. I’m based in Columbus and the delivery was super quick. The design is cute, but I wish the sheet had a bit more variety instead of being all the same. Still, they got the job done and saved me a trip to the post office.
